About JMS

To cater to the needs of this part of the country, Prof. R.K. Singh, then the Head of the Department of Mathematics, created the Jammu Mathematical Society (JMS) in 1990 with the help of the faculty members and Professors from different colleges of the Jammu region. Since then, the JMS, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics at the University of Jammu, has been organizing various programs in this part of the country. The main objectives of the society are to promote Mathematics by providing a platform for interactions/deliberations and giving exposure to young Mathematical minds in this part of the country. Presently, it has more than 500 life members.
