Annual Conference: This is an annual feature in which a national seminar is organized, inviting some eminent mathematicians to interact with research scholars of the department and discuss the recent research advancements in their fields.
Alka Memorial Mathematical Competition:
Alka Memorial Mathematical Competition (AMMC) has been one of the major activities of the Jammu Mathematical Society since 1992. It is conducted in memory of Ms. Alka Gupta, one of the finest students of the Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, who unfortunately passed away at a very young age in 1991 while pursuing her research degree (Ph.D.) at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi. This test is sponsored by her parents.
This Mathematical Competition is organized annually by the Society, in which students from all colleges and universities of this region participate in the following two categories:
i. Undergraduate category and
ii. Postgraduate category.
After evaluation, the first three prizes are given strictly according to merit, and winners are honored in the annual conference of JMS during the prize distribution function.
One-Day Student Conference: This is also an activity for the students, organized by the students and scholars of the Department under the banner of JMS and the direction of office bearers of JMS. It is a one-day event in which students (maximum 02) from each college and university in this region participate, and a panel of judges is appointed to evaluate the speakers. Accordingly, the first, second, and third prizes are awarded during the inaugural function of JMS.
